  • The Cahoon Museum of American Art is also proud to participate in Mass Cultural Council’s Card to Culture program, the most comprehensive effort of its kind to open doors to arts and culture experiences for low-income families. EBT, WIC, and ConnectorCare card holders can purchase tickets for $2 each to the museum. Available in person. For more information, please email info@cahoonmuseum.org.
  • New England Museum Association (NEMA) members admitted free of charge. (Card holder only)

Accessibility:

The Cahoon museum is wheelchair accessible and has an elevator to access all floors. Please use our ramped entrance on the west side of the building leading directly into our main lobby or through the lower level entrance by the main parking lot, press buzzer to gain entry, take elevator to first floor lobby.

Entrance from our courtyard does require a steep step up into the main lobby, if you have any mobility concerns please use our ramped entrance or lower level entrance to the lobby via the elevator.

Public restrooms are available in our lower level, accessed via elevator from within the museum or by lower level entry door.
Please note, there are no stairs leading to/from the lower level.

Small but very well curated.
A couple of special exhibits that were fascinating, almost mystical. Nice art. Interesting.
The permanent exhibits are well chosen to represent the artists who own the property at one time. This is worth going to a few times a year.”

Cahoon Museum of Art PSA

Directions:

The Cahoon Museum of American Art is located at 4676 Falmouth Road (Route 28) in Cotuit, MA 02635. Cotuit is one of the seven villages of the Town of Barnstable, located in the mid-Cape region of Cape Cod.  Cotuit can be found between Osterville, Marstons Mills and Mashpee. The Museum is located where Main Street, Cotuit meets Route 28 and near where Route 130 meets Route 28.

From Outer Cape: Take Route 6 to Exit 5 (Route 149); proceed 4 miles south to Route 28; turn right on Route 28 and continue for two miles. The museum is on the right just before the intersection with Route 130.

From Upper Cape and Sagamore Bridge: Take Route 6 to Exit 2 (Route 130); proceed 7 miles south to end of Route 130 at Route 28, then turn left. The museum is the second building on the left.

From Bourne Bridge: Take Route 28 to the exit for Route 151; proceed east and south to intersection with Route 28 at Mashpee Rotary; follow Route 28 east out of rotary toward Hyannis for 2 miles. Once you pass the traffic light at Route 130, the museum is the second building on the left on Route 28.

From Falmouth Area: Follow Route 28 to the Mashpee Rotary and continue on Route 28 toward Hyannis for 2 miles. Once you pass the traffic light at Route 130, the museum is the second building on the left on Route 28.
