ARTIST AND BARTENDER - Opening 3/29/13

                                                                                                                                                                     

On Friday, March 29th the Cahoon Museum of American Art had an opening reception for both the "Artist and Bartender: The Extraordinary Works of Captain Joe Miron" exhibition and the "Solitary by the Sea: Works by Susan Fehlinger" exhibition in the Little Gallery. It was a an amazing evening with over 110 people attending. Many supporters of the Museum, Joe Miron descendants and members of the Sweeney family were here and very happy to swap remembrances of Captain Joe. The "Artist and Bartender" will be on view through May 19. "Solitary by the Sea: Works by Susan Fehlinger" will be on view in the Little Gallery through May 12.

MAGNIFICENT SPLENDOR OF TREES - Opening 2/15/13

On Friday, February 15th the Cahoon Museum of American Art had an opening reception for both "The Magnificent Splendor of Trees: How Artists Interpret Trees" exhibition and the "Works by Barbara Sparre" exhibition in the Little Gallery. It was a great evening, many artists, and supporters of the Museum were here and very happy to finally get out and about. Everyone was comparing stories about surviving the power outages due to the blizzard. "The Magnificent Splendor of Trees" exhibit is the annual benefit exhibition and this year a portion of proceeds will be donated to the Sandwich Conservation Trust. The "Trees" exhibit will be on view through March 24. "Works by Barbara Sparre" will be on view in the Little Gallery through March 17.
